Hello dears,
I recently had the pleasure of attending a wonderful auction preview that was hosted by the famous Doyle Auction House at the beautiful Raffles L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills. Such a gorgeous setting for this lovely event!
This warm LA evening started on a cheerful note, with sipping bubbly and enjoying yummy small bites, while trying on some amazing diamond jewelry. The 11 carat emerald cut diamond ring is my new inspiration! Can you say swoon? And of course, I fell instantly in love with a pair of decadent Art Deco earrings, which were priced starting at $30,000.... ouch! I definitely had a moment where I felt just like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's! :-)
However, I also found some very reasonably priced pieces, for example a beautiful 1920's brooch with rose cut diamond flowers with a starting bid of $1,100! Note to self: return to Doyle when the kids finish college and I have a bit of extra budget for these stunning sparklers!
Overall, this important jewelry pre-auction preview night was a ladies delight! How can anyone resist trying on fancy diamond necklaces by Bvlgari and Cartier? I certainly can't! I truly felt transported to another time and a different era, that of glitz and glamour and endless decadence. I had a great time and shared lots of laughs with dear friends and my cousin Liza. I also had the pleasure of meeting the famous actress Brenda Vaccaro, whose sexy, raspy voice made her famous. Many of my friends tend to say that my voice reminds them of hers! I guess it was just fate for us to finally meet ;-)
After the preview, we all decided to stay for dinner, and had a wonderful time chatting about the jewels while sipping on champagne. Until next time!
Xo, G
