For me, Fashion's Night Out 2010 was like a two-night event!
On Thursday night - the eve of FNO - I celebrated my dear friend Jenny's birthday at STK. Fabulous food and divine company, what more could a girl ask for? Take a peek at some of the photos from this below!
On Friday night, Fashion's Night Out was finally here! I think this is such a worthwhile event, and there was definitely a chic, celebratory vibe in the air! Of course, I wore a beautiful Single dress for the night, and even channeled superstar stylist Rachel Zoe for a portion of the evening! Sara and I attended the Genlux rooftop penthouse party, so much fun :)
Let me run through the evening with you. Of course, I started with an overly ambitious itinerary. So many fab fashion events, so little time! However, because I decided to bring my lovely daughter Sara along to share in the experience, as well as my friend Asya and her daughter Jaqueline, we had to keep it tame! So, we pulled up to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and from there moved on to Avakian Jewelers, who not only sell the most amazing one-of-a-kind works of "bejeweled" art, but also my favorite watch collection: Tiret New York! We got scented Avakian candles as well and WOW! The scents from these candles are so exotic that they linger through my bedroom still in a very sexy way.
From there, we headed over to Saks Fifth Avenue where I sipped champagne at Chloe and got cookies in the shape of their latest it bag. So yummy and cute! This was where I tried on a Mongolian lamb fur vest with Ray-Ban sunglasses and channeled Rachel Zoe. Ha! :-) We even got the most amazing sparkly temporary tattoos, so fun! I also had the pleasure of chatting with fashion stylist extraordinaire Wes Tod Hallman at Sak's!
From there, the clock was ticking and we headed over to Neiman's where we played around at the makeup counter with our girls, and later went to watch a charity fashion show on the second level. More champagne followed, and Neiman's own "divine chocolate chip cookies." My sweet tooth was in full effect! After Neiman's, we headed over to a Genlux party on Rodeo Drive without skipping a beat. It was held at the Luxe Hotel's penthouse suite, and the deck was filled with lights, cameras, and more yummy bites! This time we tasted a divine Ice Wine from Norway, mmm. Katharine McPhee from "American Idol" performed here, she really got the crowd going!
We kept moving and went down to Rodeo Drive which was lit up with lights, music and even a Ferris Wheel! I popped into Valentino to take a peek at their amazing new collection, and finally met up with my darling girlfriend Christine Chiu and her friend Gail. We gambled a bit at the Roulette Table - how fun was that! If you are not tired already from reading this, hang on there's more! We then headed over to Cavalli where there was fun music provided by DJ Elevatah and more champagne, oy! It seemed like every store wanted to drown us in champagne, it's a good thing we were doing so much walking! Do you think it helped loosen up everyone's wallets a bit? :-) I tried on a fab coat of which I can't tell you the price tag, better stick to Single!
After leaving Cavalli and the clock striking 10pm, we popped over to Chanel for a minute and saw Ashanti (who looks so sparkly and fabulous)! At this point, we were pretty much done, and as we slowly started to make our way back to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, we still popped into Fendi and saw the amazing new promo canvas photos that Karl Lagerfeld took of the new collection and of himself. I wanted one, but they said they're not for sale! :-(
When we finally got back to the hotel, we decided it was time to unwind, so in our "Pretty Woman" fashion, we parked ourselves at the low table with armchairs in that historic lobby. Everytime I go in there, it reminds me of the movie! We finally sat down, sipping herbal tea with small dessert bites, and although the clock said 11:45pm, it was certainly time for all the Cinderella's to get home and back to reality. What a lovely and fun night! I am so glad the season has officially begun.
Love to all. Xo, G
