I wanted to share with you my recent experience at Step Up For Women Network's 7th Annual Inspiration Awards, as it was quite an emotional day for me.
As a volunteer and avid supporter of this great cause, I was honored to attend the luncheon that took place in Beverly Hills on May 14. A few months ago, I participated in their "I Dream To Be" mentor workshop (read more about it in my blog post here!).
Today's luncheon celebrated some of the women who do so much for this amazing organization. I truly enjoyed being in the company of the strong and powerful women, while meeting and networking with so many new faces. The ever-stunning Christine Chiu invited me to join as her guest, and I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this afternoon with lovely Christine and a few of her amazing friends.
The beautiful and talented Jennie Garth was one of the honorees at the luncheon, and her husband Peter Facinelli was one of the presenters. I am a huge fan of both Jennie and Peter, from Jennie's role on the original "90210" to Peter's role on one of my favorite shows, Showtime's "Nurse Jackie," and of course vicariously through my daughter Sara's devotion to "The Twilight Saga."
At the event, I waked the red carpet and gave various interviews about the organization - check out one of the interviews below! The interviewer complimented me on my shoes, and I showed her that Roger Vivier's creative director, Bruno Frisoni himself, had signed them! How fun.
As the flash bulbs settled, I got very emotional during my last interview with the Huffington Post as I spoke about the inspirational women in my own life... my mother and grandmother, who were my mentors and guided me through life with their love, grace, and impeccable manners.
All in all, a very inspirational day :)
