As I mentioned in an earlier blog post here, I participated in the Divine Design / Project Angel Food Gala Awards Night on December 3 in Beverly Hills, and this event was very close to my heart because Single participated in the Gala Fashion Show dedicated to one of the most legendary style icons in history... none other than Barbie herself!
The evening began with the red carpet arrivals, where I had tons of fun posing for photographs with one of my close friends (and Barbie alum designer) Jim Holmes. Jim was one of the extremely hard-working people who put on the incredible fashion show this year - I give him major snaps.
My look for the evening can be summed up in two words: FABULOUS and FUN! I chose my favorite vintage sequin dress (circa 1984) with a hot pink/orange color combo and paired it with hot pink Christian Louboutin stilettos and a matching handbag. Such a hit on the red carpet!
It was a delight mingling with superstylist Rachel Zoe (looking fab in sheer burgundy leopard print frock) and the beautiful star of "Mad Men," Christina Hendricks. It was also great to see Julie Benz (the gorgeous star of "Dexter" - my husband and I are huge fans of this show!) and chat with her for a bit as well. I simply adore Julie, she is such a doll and has looked great wearing Single on many occasions. A delicious dinner with flowing champagne was next, followed by a truly scrumptious dessert of mini key lime pies and chocolate fudge brownies. Yum!
My anticipation was building, and now it was finally time for the fashion show. It was an honor to be seated in the center with the team from Mattel - and as our Single for Barbie dress came breezing down the runway, I couldn't have been prouder. The gown was a smashing success, and it was exactly how I imagined it would be: flirty, fun, playful, and beautiful!
Next, we headed over to the old Robinsons-May building for some great shopping for a cause: Project Angel Food! So much fun, and it always feels great to give back for a great cause. While looking through all of the fun items for sale, a ravishing Gorham Antique Silver Tea Set caught my eye. An incredible find, the silver set was gleaming and calling my name. I imagined having an afternoon tea party and using this gem of a set, and from then on I knew that this had to be mine. I was so excited... I took my little treasure home, polished it up, and am now awaiting the perfect afternoon to invite over a few girlfriends and for a fashion chat over tea. It's like straight out of a Jane Austen novel, except instead of "Sense and Sensibility," its "Fashion and Fashionibility"... if that's a word ;)

Galina
Here is a fun glimpse from the Gala Dinner - don't you love my vintage sequin gown?
