Event Report: Fig & Olive Fashion Group International Lunch

Hello friends,

Summertime in LA means lots of fun events, and a recent one that I want to share with you was a wonderful lunch at Fig & Olive for the FGI (Fashion Group International). It was so lovely, and was in honor of the new members including Guest of Honor Ilse Metchek, the doyenne of fashion in LA.

Ilse is the Fairy Godmother to all things related to the fashion industry, and is the President of our local Fashion Industries Guild. The FIG is an incredible organization which provides advice and services to young designers based in LA, and I am honored to say that I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Ilse on various topics of discussion. We were on a local edition of CNN together, speaking out on behalf of Made in the USA products, which I am a passionate supporter of! We have also collaborated on stopping a bill from being passed, which was initiated in NYC, and we marched into a meeting at Diane Feinstein's office! I have spoken on various panels on behalf of FIG, and on a personal note... I just adore Ilse!!

The beautiful luncheon was only fitting to be held at Fig & Olive, and was hosted by the lovely Christine Chiu (as you know, I am a loyal BHPS devotee!) and several other board members of FGI, including Leanna Lewis. Overall, the afternoon was a leisurely, fun excuse to sip white wine and eat delicious food from the restaurant's kitchen. It was also fun reconnecting with great friends such as Alison Neider from California Apparel News and my dear Christos Garkinos from Decades. Was so fab to see him since our recent collaboration with the Dukes of Melrose show on Bravo!

Enjoy the photos, dears... :-)
Xo, G
