Today, I wanted to share a little secret with all of you...... I am a huge fan of all things Michael Kors! He is such a wonderful man, and I have a huge affinity for all that he stands for, from his style, warm personality, and the classic elegance of his collections. His aviator sunglasses and hot watches are the best!
Fun story..... many, many years ago when I was a young, starving student at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, Michael Kors had his small design studio right across the street! It was on 29th Street and 7th Avenue. I used to be his fit model during my lunch breaks from classes. So much fun!
As the years passed, I've had numerous wonderful opportunities to see him again and catch up on what's new. I've encountered Michael recently at a Step Up For Women's Network Event at Neiman Marcus, and at the 100 Years of Neiman Marcus Gala that was held in Dallas. We chatted about doing business in Russia, as well as our mutual secret passion... crocodile and ostrich handbags!
These days, Mr. Kors is quite the star, and very well deserved! He is a very wealthy man ever since his company went public this January, and guess what? I was the first one to buy his stock, and boy I am glad that I did. The stock opened at $22 and a month later it is at $42! Thank you Mr. Kors (by the way, the stock trades under the symbol KORS), you are my new all time favorite stock, after Apple that is!
