18 couples of Michael and I's dearest, closest friends gathered last night for a huge celebration, complete with exquisite champagne and delicious wine. But let's not forget the food! We feasted on a sumptuous five course Asian fusion meal that only the lovely Bella Lantsman (the owner of Chinois and the famous Wolfgang Puck's longtime collaborator) could execute for such a large group. Her hospitality and warmth was truly appreciated. Our friends are quite the group of savvy foodies and wine connoisseurs, but they were all delighted at the selection of cuisine and libations last night.
Special for Valentine's Day, the restaurant was decorated with super chic red hearts everywhere, compliments of the remarkable Jay Calhoon. Sexy Argentinian guitar music played in the background, making for such a seductive atmosphere. Now I know that most people would think that sharing a Valentine's Day celebration with such a large group of people may seem a bit strange, but I think it's just the opposite! In this case, when you're surrounded by couples who still have that spark and twinkle in their eyes when they see their partner, it makes the holiday all the more magical. My job as the "Cupid Coordinator" for all my friends on every Valentine's Day for the past 10 years is so fun!
Overall, the evening couldn't have been more romantic or beautiful - just what every girl wants on Valentine's Day! On that note, I wish that everyone can find true love, happiness, and a joy in living life to the fullest. Remember, celebrate love all year long not just on February 14!
Xo,
Galina
