LAUNCH MY LINE FINALE #1 RECAP

Hi dear friends and fans!

This is it! We're almost there. As I watched the first part of the finale this week, I removed myself from the show all together, and watched it as a viewer. Looking at the show objectively, I realized that the stress, anticipation and exhaustion was entirely worth it... this really is an entertaining series! The collective talent of the designers is really impressive.

While watching this episode, I had a lot of realizations. First, I realized that my passion for constructing a quality garment was revitalized during the process of the show. Before I started the competition, it had been a number of years since I'd sat at a sewing machine and constructed a dress. But I still have it in me! I love the pretty party dresses and three piece outfits that I helped to construct.

Another realization was how amazing it feels to be honestly and genuinely appreciated by your design partner. I never felt like a slave to the sewing machine - I felt truly valued as an "expert." Eric took my advice often and through the entire process of the show, really grew in leaps and bounds as a designer. He is a true fashion force to be reckoned with!

I also realized how untrustworthy some of my competitors were. This was a sad realization, however is a good life lesson. In life, there will be nasty, mean-spirited and opportunistic people sitting right next to you. People who will smile and wish you the best, but degrade you behind your back. I've tried to rise above it all, and I think that is the most important thing. I am a firm believer in karma - what goes around comes around!

At the end of the day, Eric and I were the only team that never got into a fight, never threw a fit, never argued. We had this incredible synergy and unbelievable zest for our collection. Like the passion for life that we both have, our line is a great representation of our creative vitality.

'Til Wednesday - stay tuned!

Xo,
Galina
