Every once in a while, I will be profiling individuals that have inspired or motivated me in some way in both my personal and professional life. Passionate souls with a strong point of view, close friends or fellow designers, legendary visionaries or everyday people. On that note, today's post is on a man that I have come to admire for his finesse with fashion and enthusiastic approach to his career, Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing.
Ken is truly a force in the fashion industry, a man at the top of his game that I really admire. Ken is what I like to consider a "visionary trend detective," traveling the globe and identifying the newest, hottest trends for the coming seasons. Seeing as how Neiman Marcus has carried my Single line in the Dress Departnment (also available on NeimanMarcus.com and SingleDress.com) for over 7 years, I am always interested in seeing what Ken's predictions are for the fashion future.
I love working so closely with both Ken and Neiman's, as I regularly make trips to Dallas (the Neiman Marcus headquarters) for personal appearances. I also recently attended the Zac Posen soiree at Chateau Marmont, and I loved running into Ken and catching up with him. A Southern gentleman through and through, Ken was gracious and charming as always, and I really enjoyed our little chat. Take a look at a snapshot of Ken and myself below!
