LAUNCH MY LINE EPISODE 4 RECAP

Episode 4 of "Launch My Line" was definitely a memorable one. I love asymmetrical designs, and frequently use them in my Single line of dresses - http://www.singledress.com - so imagine how thrilled I was to hear that this challenge incorporated this mantra!

There's no question about it, the competition is definitely getting tougher. Watching tonight's episode definitely made me nervous. It's survival of the fittest, and sometimes even our best isn't good enough. Inspired by a beautiful nude model, Eric and I decided on accentuating the shoulder and creating a fun, flirty dress to wear out to a club. With flowy patterned chiffon and a playful silhouette, both Eric and I can say that we LOVED our look.

In looking back at our garment, I can see that we should have broadened our look for this challenge, as this is "Launch My LINE" not "Launch One LOOK"! I stand by the sentiment that ours is truly the most cohesive collection to date of all the other teams, as this is what a retail buyer would look for when purchasing an entire collection for a store.

I would also like to address Merle's comments throughout the show - which I believe went a little too far. Eric and I are designing for a hot, young, jet set clientele, not an older, more conservative, demographic. If she doesn't like it... tough! She's not on the judges panel :) Instead of focusing on negativity and Merle's nasty and unnecessary comments, I choose to remain positive and keep a humorous attitude. I've gotten so many compliments after last night's episode, both from friends and strangers, which truly warmed my heart.

Another moment of last night's episode that I really enjoyed was my breakfast conversation with Vanessa. Although this was edited to death, I really believed in her vision as a designer and was sad to see her go. She is really a beautiful soul, inside and out!

And so, on we go. With glamour, grace, elegance, integrity and vitality! I choose to soar in this competition without resorting to petty, mean-spirited comments and instead with a strong belief in my talented partner Eric. My motto in life has always been "give more, expect less." I am a creative survivor with a zest for life - and together with Eric we will do what we set out to do - knock their socks off!!

So what if Merle thinks I should have been an actress or an opera singer, maybe I will be one day! :)
