I have to admit - I am a huge fan of Jason's work. He is slowly but surely becoming one of the great American designers, and at such a young age! I was overjoyed to meet and have a small conversation with him, and was extremely impressed by this young man's grace and charm. In addition to being such a masterful designer, Jason is incredibly humble and so very appreciative and grateful for his success over the past year.
Diane was there to show her support for Jason, and donned an elegant one-shouldered black and teal dress. I stopped to chat with the lovely and very poised young actress, and after exchanging a few pleasantries, I mentioned to Diane that she was in one of my favorite films, Copying Beethoven. This nearly knocked her off her seat, as she was very surprised and excited that I remembered this little gem of a movie.
As the party went on, I noticed the informal models that were beautifully displaying Mr. Wu's new collection. His use of fabric and color are masterful, and each look caught my eye for different reasons. Every single one was strong and memorable, especially the party dresses which are his specialty.
I also ran into my friend Merle Ginsberg, who will appear on the upcoming Bravo show "Launch My Line" with me, which premieres on December 2. More on this exciting new project to follow...
