Event Report: Divine Dior

Hi dears,

Another day, another fab event! Recently, my dearest friend Christine Chiu (the maven behind the BHPS Spa and Surgical Center) hosted a lovely event for Dior with a Curator from Vogue. It was a chilly Los Angeles evening, and Dior fans came in droves to spy the latest designs since the Master Galliano's departure.

Well I have to say... the new collection looks divine!!! It is young, airy, and has a romantic sense of feminine glamour. While not as theatrical as Galliano's designs, this collection is much easier to wear in real life. Our very own Christine was a vision in this frothy lemon number! She brought to mind a beautiful ballerina from a past era.

The presentation consisted of references made to the original Dior looks from 1955-57....... we truly enjoyed an art history lesson along with the presentation! In addition to the gorgeous clothes, the new shoes and boots are TO DIE FOR! Plus, the new cosmetics collection is simply smoldering.

The Grand Canyon!

Iwanted to share a Sobolev family end-of-the-year adventure with you!

Backin November, our family went on a majestic road trip to the Grand Canyon. It was such a beautiful and incredible trip… the greatexpanse of the canyon really puts everything into perspective! The last time Iwas there, Julian was 3 months old - that was 21 years ago! We drove through Laughlinand stayed the night to break up a 7 hour drive. Laughlin was fun - it's like amini "Vegas" and the kids had a blast! The next day, we spent theentire day at three amazing locations of the Canyon.

Stop1 was "Eagle Point" - the Rock Formation at that part of Grand Canyon really looks like a huge eagle. It was just breathtaking! The views are simply indescribable! We wereall in AWE! The 2^nd stop was the Sky Walk - it isliterally a semi-circle of a glass bridge that hangs off the cliff over the Grand Canyon!! Kindof scary but so much fun. To go on it, you must leave all yourcameras/phones behind and put on slippers over your shoes, kind of like theones they wear in hospitals. Then, you step on this incredible glass bridge andyou look down and you see the Colorado riverand the bottom of the Canyon. It is really crazy!!! Wehad our photos taken professionally there and they charge mucho $$ for those! Ohwell it's all in a day's fun! See the pic below…

Thenstop 3 was a huge red rock formation, where tons of large red boulders werenaturally created. We climbed all over them! :-)

Thelast stop was The Ranch where we had a hearty home cooked meal of chicken, ribs,corn on a cob and mashed potatoes! I kept telling myself that the diet awaitsstarting tomorrow - ha! What a trip… our country has such incredible places tovisit. Sometimes I wonder why we all rush to Europewhen we have such incredible natural splendor in our own back-yard!

Event Report: McQueen Magic

Hello loves!

Also in November, my party girl partner-in-crime Jenny Leeser and I attended an in-store event at the Alexander McQueen store in Melrose Place. The event followed the amazing lecture at LACMA's Bing Theatre on the "Savage Beauty" Exhibit curated and presented by Michael Bolton at the Met. The visuals were on loan from the Met exhibit which was attended by 500,000 people!! Such a fun, festive and glamorous evening..... as a huge fan of Mr. Lee McQueen (and his successor Sarah Burton), I was anxious to see what intricate fashions the night had in store for us!

Jenny looked lovely in a plaid Single Dress, while I opted for pieces from McQueen's Highlander Collection! This collection was simply magic..... pure McQueen. This collection was over 7 years ago, yet still looks completely current!

The earlier lecture was so captivating, and the evening finale held at the store was just divine! We ended the night at Boa for dinner with some friends.... what a whirlwind (and I managed to go to work from 2-6pm) that day as well! Talk about a crazy busy day!??

My family and I decided to spend the holidays in beautiful Manzanillo Mexico, and we are having the most unforgettable time. The sights are divine, and it's so relaxing and wonderful here. Event Report: Anna's Beautiful Birthday

The end of November marked my dear friend Anna Gelikman's birthday, and a bunch of friends gathered together to celebrate in high style in Beverly Hills!

I wanted to do something really special for Anna, so I orchestrated a day that I knew she would love. With the help of my dear friend Jon Wilkin - the manager of the Versace boutique on Rodeo Drive - we started out with a fabulous champagne toast at the Versace boutique, chatting excitedly about the festivities that lay ahead. After all of the ladies settled in, we were escorted to the new Annenberg Exhibit called il Teatro alla Moda. What is this new exhibit, you ask? It's a breathtaking collection of incredible costumes made throughout the years for various Italian operas.

The costumes were so beautiful! We were instantly transported to the stage of La Scalla and the voice of Maria Callas, and days of an incredible by gone era. Some of the costumes were designed by Missoni, Fendi, and Valentino, and the largest room belonged to Versace. The Versace pieces were too incredible to express in words (see the photos below!).

We were simply speechless. It was a private, VIP tour, and the Curator kept us so entertained. Plus, lovely Mother-in-law bought the book for me! Lucky me :-) After the amazing tour, we walked over to Scarpetta at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon on the outside patio, toasting our beautiful friend Anna! I gave her some fun Bday wishes.

My outfit of the day consisted of my new favorite dress, my hot pink studded Versace for H&M mini!

I did not want this day to end.... I think everyone was so thrilled, including myself, as it was such a treat to organize this fantastic day for my girlfriends. A toast to all my stunning girlfriends, I love doing special things and planning special events for my friends!

It was a cold, dark and fashionable winter's evening a few weeks ago, and I attended a fab little gathering at the Tom Ford boutique at Neiman Marcus. While it was chilly outside, the fashionistas of Beverly Hills stayed warm while sipping champagne and toasting Mr. Ford's beautiful designs.

Event Report: Lovely Louboutin

These Autumn and Winter months went by in a major flash.... I want to update you on some of the fabulous soirees that I attended!

Back in November, I had the pleasure of attending the Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary and Book Launch Party that was held at Barney's New York in Beverly Hills! This evening was truly divine... I mean, what girl doesn't love a pair of red soles? :-)

Mr. Louboutin himself was there, such a lovely man..... and so creative! It was a blast mingling with him, Dita von Teese, and Lea Michele (photos below!).

In fact, Dita fell in love with my dear Jenny Leeser's Single Victoria Dress in Black/Rose. The exotic print makes this trademark Single Dress really pop!!!!

Tom Ford Glamour!

Hello loves,

I recently attended a fun opening of the Tom Ford boutique inside the Beverly Hills Neiman Marcus store - the whole event was simply beautiful!

Tom Ford - or Mr. Ford to all these days - is a total design genius with a Midas touch. His boutique has officially landed at Neimans!! The intimate, open, and glamorous in-store boutique is the extension of the Tom Ford shop on Rodeo (have you seen my event recap of this store opening?). However, the fact that this TF boutique is inside Neimans, a more diverse clientele will most likely check it out.

As usual, we sipped champagne and enjoyed a sneak peek of the new collection, which was modeled by gorgeous models wearing TF head to toe. Sigh. So much glamour!

The collection transported me to the smoky, dizzy nights of Studio 54.... full of sex appeal and mystery. The touches of velvet, lace, and leather are a sheer delight. I could not resist trying on this season's item de rigeur, the fur coat. Yes, not I'm ready for the slopes of Aspen or Courchevel! I thoroughly enjoyed the preview, along with my dear cousin Liza and LA's PR glam girl about town, Jenny Leeser.

Overall, it was a great time filled with an insane amount of glitz and glam.

An easy way to emulate TF's to die for style? Opt for a sexy dress in his signature shade, red, such as Single's Victoria Dress in Red!!!

I had to share with you my major score from the Versace for H&M collection!!! I had the extreme joy of attending a private preview and sale of the pieces at the actual Versace boutique.... in addition to snagging some of the gorgeous dresses when they went on sale. So amazing!!

I need to thank my dearest Christine Chiu for inviting me to the store as her guest and guarding these dresses with her life for me!!!! Plus, the incredible Dr.Gabriel Chiu of BHPS.. he came over still in scrubs to help us make our p urchases. So a HUGE HUGE thanks to Christine, because if it wasn't for her, I'd be Versace-less!!! Ha! :-)

My Fall Design Inspirations

Today, I thought I'd offer some insight into the what inspired me during the process of designing Single's fall collection. I am constantly wavering between my love for designing pieces with a linear form and pieces that are flowy and free...... I adore them both! So, for fall, I decided to design a handful of each kind of garment that offer both options for my lovely Single lovers.

My Structured Line was inspired by classic, ladylike silhouettes that flatter the feminine figure while still offering a touch of fashionable edge. Some of my favorite dresses from the Structured Line include the Victoria Dress, Notch Neck Dress, Becky Dress, Peplum Dress, and the Veronica Dress.

I was also obsessed with vibrant, eye-catching prints and patterns for fall. Wearing a chic array of diverse patterns has never been so in vogue, so go ahead! Have fun with bold prints!! Some of my favorite printed Single pieces are the Cowl Neck Rocker Dress, Kimono Dress, Stella Shift Dress, Eva Dress, Draped Back Dress, and Ruffle Sleeve Blouse.

An Evening with Versace

Hello dears!

This has been quite the busy fashion season for me... the flashy events and glamorous parties have been non stop! I recently had the pleasure of hosting a Versace Dinner with Christine Chiu and Avril Graham, the Executive Fashion & Beauty Editor of Harper's Bazaar (one of my all time favorite fashion glossies!!). It was a wildly memorable evening.....

We hosted a fashion presentation and a sit down dinner for 50 guests at the glistening Versace store in Beverly Hills. The evening started with flowing bubbly and light conversation, and then Christine and I welcomed our guests and thanked our fellow host as well as the store managers Jessica, Jon, and Stacey. They flew in from NYC so it was a real treat to have them here! It was so much fun being surrounded by my friends and fellow fashionistas, including my dear Asya Gorovets and Anna Itkin.

The fashion presentation was curated by Avril Graham herself, which was very special indeed. She is bursting with fashion expertise and insider details! Some of the fabulous guests included Adrienne Maloof, Cameron Silver of Decades, and a lovely group of BH socialites, glamour girls and Versace devotees. I was so impressed with the new collection, and I have a few highlights for you! The beautifully structured coats, great long couture gowns, and a selection of amazing day dresses. As models slowly walked down the stunning spiral staircase, I instantly thought of the glamorous days of the past and the many legendary Versace shows. These shows featured models who need no last names... Linda, Christy, Naomi. You know who I mean ;-)

The excitement of the late 80's era was upon us once again, but in a more restrained, elegant way!

We sat and chatted with Avril about everything from the Royal Wedding (which she had recently attended) to her favorite trends for spring. After enjoying a delicious dinner, it was time to shop! We bought some really fun items - the new home section had some of the best gift items, including great scented Versace candles for $60 that make for great hostess gifts - and clothes. Elegant champagne flutes and ash trays make for elegant Christmas gifts as well.

Today I'm giving my friends and fans a sneak peek inside my home... think of it as a guided tour around my most personal space!

Overlooking the Hollywood Hills, my home is a real reflection of both Michael and my personal taste as well as our flair for decoration. The inspiration for our home redo came from traveling as well as hotels like the W Hotel (which I love!), as well as trying to incorporate a loungey atmosphere. Our home has surround sound music as well as a large suite bedroom, a spa-style bathroom with his and hers areas. I honestly think that the secret to a happy marriage are his and hers bathrooms!! Ha!

I love mixing antiques from trips to London to create a warm environment as well as a color scheme of warm chocolates, neutral tones, and pops of color. The dining room has a red crocodile wall! We started with an Armani dining room table and just loved this piece, we acquired it when we redid the house. Armani Casa is unfortunately no longer located on Beverly Blvd, I miss that store! I have to say that the bathtub might just be my favorite spot in the house, but I also love the bedroom! There's only 6 of my bathtubs in the US - it's made in a factory that makes Ferraris. The spa area in my bathroom really relaxes me, I love starting or ending a day here burning a bunch of great candles :-)

Michael enjoys his Friday night "guys night" otherwise known as their sauna night!! It's so cool that we can both share in the luxury of the bathroom.

Our dining room is really unique in that it fits 18 people, with two benches (4 people can fit on each bench) making the space casual and not so formal. The Valerio chandelier in the dining room is from Minotti on Beverly Blvd, and is oval shaped to match the dining room table. Moving into the bedroom, we have these amazing Ankassa hand embroidered pillows and the rest of the room is custom Fendi Casa. Fendi Casa is located on Robertson Blvd across from Diva. There's silk velvet drapes to create a lounge feel, and have a crocodile embossed bed with a chocolate suede headboard. Ambiance is a big thing for me, we always have candles burning. The nightstands are chocolate lizard... I love incorporating elements of the exotic!

All pieces in our house are a labor of love, luxury elements brought together in an eclectic way. I love recycling items to give them new life, too! Take a look at some photos from the home below and enjoy!

An Evening with Nina Ricci

Hello my darlings,

This month has been an absolute whirlwind! I've attended quite a few fabulous events so far, and this exciting month is brimming with lavish fashion presentations from many of my favorite designers.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the most wonderful event for Nina Ricci by Neiman Marcus that was held at the Palihouse Holloway Hotel in West Hollywood. Now that Autumn has arrived, the temperatures have cooled down and we have to bundle up in our coats before heading out for the night. The night of the event was a quite chilly, but once we stepped inside the lovely Palihouse, we instantly felt cozy and warm from the elegance of the event.

When I arrived, the gracious team from Neiman Marcus announced that the evening had officially begun. How sweet!!! This was the highlight of the night! After that lovely dose of flattery (because what girl doesn't love a compliment?), we sipped champagne and chatted with everyone from Neimans. From there, we were escorted to our seats and treated to a delicious sit down dinner and a presentation of Nina Ricci's Spring 2012 collection. Click here to check it out!

The entire presentation of beautiful garments took me back to the glamorous days of Audrey Hepburn - nostalgic , delicate dresses and timeless beauty. With a color palette of pale rose, white, and navy (which is officially the new black), I was completely charmed by Nina Ricci's latest designs. What a great way to spend an evening! It was a nice opportunity to catch up with some friends, including my dearest Christine Chiu, Asya Gorovets, Larissa Sabadash, and Anna Itkin (who looked smashing!). The LA society ladies came out for Nina!

It was definitely a night to remember... and next week I am looking forward to attending Dior and McQueen events. Of course, photos and details to come my darlings! So many things to look forward to :)

Here is a fun picture of me posing with CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award Winner - and "Project Runway" judge! - Michael Kors.

Michael is such a sweetheart... I love him! Then again, you know that I have a penchant for men named Michael ;-)

Funny enough, I was his fit model back in 1982. Back in those days, Michael had a small, beautiful design studio on 29th Street. I freelanced and came to fittings for cashmere sweaters (my first one was MK) and fitted, strapless black dresses. Those were fun times in NYC!

We reconnected again at Neiman Marcus' 100th Birthday in Dallas, where the amazing party was held and many of the Neiman's featured designers were present. Designers such as Judith Ripka, Manolo Blahnik, and Zac Posen. The night was a spectacular feast for the senses - food, music, and a different theme on every floor! It was a glamorous night, and Michael and I chatted most about our mutual love of exotic skins and textures (especially crocodile from Russian customers). We had such a blast reminiscing about the fun days of New York, and snapped a few cute shots (including this one!). I am personally a huge fan of MK - to this day, I LOVE his classic twist on American sportswear. His yummy 4-ply cashmeres are still the absolute best!

We are located in Downtown LA (as you know, I am proud that Single is Made in USA and supports the local economy) and this photo was snapped at a minute's notice..... I wasn't wearing any makeup but thought this turned out to be a great shot.

This is where the Single magic happens. As you can see, I have an inspiration board where I post textiles, patterns, colors, photographs, and even objects that drive my creativity during the design process.

Then there's part of my fabric supply to the right... you know I love leopard!!!!

I have some fabulous photos to share with you from the Good News Foundation event! One of my favorite ladies Wendy Burch is a member of this important organization, which is dedicated to making a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of people in need and at-risk in greater Los Angeles. Founded by television journalists, the Good News Foundation brings together a powerful network to recognize, reward and create good news.

Just amazing! The event was so much fun, I love spending time with my dear friends Christine Chiu and Wendy Burch. Plus, running into Adrienne Maloof from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is always a treat! The incredibly talented Matt Goss performed at the event, which definitely added to the sultry glamour of the evening.

Plus, all of the Good News Girls volunteers were dressed in Single dresses. They all look stunning.

Myself, Michael, and Single as a company have been supporting this wonderful foundation for over 3 years, be it through donations, purchases at silent auctions, and this year... dressing the Volunteers for the event. We firmly believe in the Goodness they provide in the areas of education and help for abused women and children. The KTLA Team of Newscasters that are on board with Wendy are absolutely incredible, tireless, and giving woman. Angels in disguise!!!

We love watching them on the news, but we truly appreciate them for giving to the deserving and needy.

Many thanks to the wonderful Wendy Burch, she is a true inspiration :-)

PS - We were lucky enough to receive amazing gift bags containing a facial from BHPS (omg!), free yoga classes as well as a stunning picture frame. Wow how fun!

Fun on Fashion's Night Out

Last week marked one of my favorite events of the year.... Fashion's Night Out!

As you know, I celebrated the occasion with a little promotion on Single's website, but was anxious to begin the real fun with my girls on the night of September 8!! The evening started with a visit with my dear friend Christine Chiu at McCormick & Schmick's. We visited with some fashion industry veterans, and I also ran into a few good friends from Directives West. After a delightful meal of nibbling on tuna tartar and oyster shooters, we picked up gift bags which contained a BHPS gift certificate, yey!! I can't wait to go back to the Spa at BHPS for my next amazing facial (I blogged about it here!).

Then, we headed down to the main event on Rodeo Drive. We started by popping into my favorite store for gifts, David Orgell! We said hello to the dear owner Korosh Soltani, who treated us to some fun gift bags with cool Ritmo-Mundo hats! Then we stopped into Van Cleef and Arpels, and took some hilarious photos with their jewelry. I really wanted to take some of it home... ha!! One thing was for sure, the champagne was flowing continuously throughout the evening, and by the time we walked to Harry Winston in hopes of trying on a few dazzling sparklers, we were offered the most delectable champagne in the world! It was peach flavored and oh-so-yummy!!!!

This was a non-stop walk and shop til you drop evening! Continuing right along, we said hello to the folks at Dolce and Gabbana, and then decided to go into YSL since it was hopping!! They had a great DJ spinning the most fabulous hits from the 80's... so fun!!! I got a fab FNO tee-shirt and decided that we should keep moving. With every ten feet it seems as though we ran into someone we knew! Amazing. Plus, there was still so much ground to cover and places to go..... I resolved to visit a few more stores and BASTA!

Otherwise, there's no way I would have made it for my 7am workout ;-)

Overall, it was an amazing, memorable, and glamorous night. Enjoy some of the fun photos below!!!

Event Spotlight: Tom Ford Flagship Store Opening

I wanted to re-post this amazing event, the opening of the Tom Ford store on Rodeo. So much fun.... enjoy for those of you who haven't seen this!!!!

I received an invitation to the Event of the Week, Tom Ford's Flagship Store Opening on Rodeo Drive. While most of Hollywood was abuzz about the upcoming Oscar ceremony, in my opinion Oscar night pales in comparison to the magnitude and glamour of TF!

It was quite an evening, I honestly felt like Alice in Wonderland for a moment... being transported into a glittering, glamorous, and elegant world that is simply known as Tom's World.

The store is impeccable, sleek and chic. The talent that I met as I made my way up the glimmering steel-lined staircase was beyond words; here is a quick recap that reads as a "who's who" in Los Angeles!

Pulling up to the store, we were greeted by the gorgeous Russian top model Natalia Vodianova, who looked stunning in Tom Ford and a fabulous pair of brand new Tom Ford shoes. She was with her gorgeous, blonde son (he looked like an adorable cherub!). After chatting with Natalia for a bit, she invited us to her upcoming event in Paris - wow! - and then in we went to the main event. We bumped into Adrien Brody, looking very polished as usual. The entire first floor is all menswear (a paradise for dapper gentlemen) and amazingly stylish. After grabbing a glass of champagne, it was time to head upstairs to the womens floor. However, we stopped half-way up the stairs to stop and chat with none other than Colin Firth! I told him that I not only remembered him as the original Mr. Darcy but that he will absolutely win an Oscar on Sunday. Turned out, I was right! He is even more handsome in real life than on the screen, and ever so charming. I loved Colin's performance in last year's Tom Ford-directed film "A Single Man," so it's really nice that Colin came to show his support for Tom.

Once we made our way to the next floor, we found out that nearly every A-list actor was upstairs! We chatted with Eva Longoria - a huge fan of Single - for a while, and I reminded her of all the fabulous Single dresses she's helped us sell by wearing them so beautifully. Eva is just so lovely! Rosario Dawson was also there, looking stunning in black. Moving right along, we chatted with Kristin Davis from "Sex and the City," and then had tons of fun posing with the Tom Ford male models and talking about the potential of "Sex and the City 3." I must dress her!!

From there, we found ourselves in a quiet corner with the beautiful and immensely talented Gina Gershon, who told us that she has a Russian Jewish background :-) I had so much fun playing with Tom Ford's immaculate collection of crocodile bags alongside Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson... but wait, I'm not done yet! If me knees weren't already shaking enough, John Stamos shows up out of the blue, and my head started spinning!

The highlight of the night was of course meeting James Galanos, the "original" couturier of Hollywood, and without a doubt seeing Mr. Tom Ford himself once again. He is ever so gallant, charming, and the epitome of a gentleman. It was a special treat seeing all of Tom's legendary models, such as Amber Valletta and Tom's muse Karen Elson, the gorgeous red head (who plays guitar and sings, by the way!). Her Tom Ford dress was beyond words, it's $23,000!

SINGLE was Co-founded by Galina Sobolev and Michael Sobolev in 1994, and was conceived to reaffirm every woman's zest for life, romance and luxury.

As a child in her native Russia, Galina learned how to sew and crochet from her grandmother in a glitzy neighborhood in Odessa. Even today, Galina cites this as a profound influence in her life, recalling the supple garments and colorful fabrics she used to play with.

In 1977 her family moved to New York. A few years later Galina enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She participated in the school's exchange program which enabled her to spend a year and a half in England to study knitwear. Upon her return to the U.S., she earned two awards from FIT for her graduating collection. During this time, she also got into modeling, walking the New York runways alongside Pat Cleveland and Iman for such designers as Michael Kors and Michael Vollbracht.
Galina moved to Los Angeles in 1987 where she continued to work in fashion, designing for several well known fashion lines. But it was her meeting with her future husband Michael Sobolev, in what she describes as a fairytale-like situation on Christmas Eve of 1992 that truly changed her life. The couple proved to be such a great match that they extended their personal relationship to include a professional one.

Michael's entrepreneurial skills and MBA degree together with Galina's talent made a perfect formula for starting a company of their own, with Michael taking the business end while Galina focused on the creative aspect of designing gorgeous dresses. Two years into the venture, major stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Fred Segal picked up the line with an overwhelming reaction to her designs.
SINGLE offers the very latest in fashion trends with a fresh and unique interpretation, combining classic luxury with an exuberant attitude with one-of-a-kind prints developed from original artwork.

My Current Beauty Obsessions

As you know, summertime means sun exposure and long days by the pool. This means I really have to ramp up my skincare regimen, and I wanted to share with you my current beauty obsessions!

First, an absolute MUST have is Latisse for long lashes... in addition to a sunblock with at least SPF 15! My favorite method of sun protection is SkinCeuticals Daily Sun Defense.

Take a look at a pic I just snapped of my summer glow, compliments of SkinCeuticals SPF and long lashes via Latisse!

I love and highly recommend SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex, it works miracles on my eyes.

SkinMedica is another fantastic skincare line that I am obsessed with! I love their TNS Essential Serum, and use it religiously.

In fact, back in December I attended a lovely afternoon of tea with Christine Chiu, where her husband, the genius Dr. Gabriel Chiu, was filmed for a French television station informing us about SkinMedica's products! You can check out my blog on that afternoon here.

I found something that you can all get a good laugh from.... a totally 80's blast from the past!! These are some of my modeling shots from NYC...... From the shoulder pads to the hair, can you say The Nanny? Can you say Sarah Jessica Parker before Carrie Bradshaw??

Oh, what a fashionista I was. The jacket in the outfit where I'm wearing the skirt was Thierry Mugler runway collection circa 1984, and the belt was a Barry Keiselstein Cord Sterling Silver Limited Edition buckle and Crocodile belt. Balmain design team, eat your heart out..... I was there first!

I have a womanly figure, and most designers' lines are completely youth oriented and designed for very small sizes, and Single has found a way to make younger women look sexy and fashionable, while still accommodating mature women who want to look stylish without looking foolish.

Prior to meeting you, I first admired your line when my daughter, a fashion-forward woman in her thirties, started wearing your designs. She encouraged me to try on some of the tunic tops from your line, and I subsequently purchased four of them myself! In my opinion, they flatter all figures without adding bulk.

My favorite detail is the fabulous liner you use underneath your skirts. It cinches in and hides everything, so I can actually wear a sheath dress again - something I haven't done in ages.

An Unforgettable June Wedding

Hi my dears,

On June 25, Michael and I attended the most magical, memorable wedding at the fabulous Four Seasons Hotel..... it was like a fairy tale!

The bride is the daughter of my good friend Nelly Pressman, and the handsome groom was named Gennady. I always love attending a wedding, there's something so wonderful about so much love in one place! Michael and I had a ball getting ready and stepping out for this lovely evening.

The Four Seasons has never looked so frothy, sparkly and glamorous..... as we walked in for the early cocktail hour around 6:30, the air of 20's glamour just took my breath away! We were greeted by handsome men in top hats with long stemmed feathers (so cute!) and a glass of chilled champagne.

The color scheme was a delight, Tiffany blue and white. It was a traditional Jewish ceremony, so the Kippa's being given out were also made of buttery soft suede in Tiffany blue. We even got a fan in case we were hot.... how thoughtful! The ever-spectacular Mindy Weiss was the Wedding Planner and did a spectacular job - everything she does is flawless. And the flowers...... the flowers! The florist was my dear long time friend Kevin from LA Premier Flowers on La Cienega... WOW! They were just GORGEOUS!!!

As we walked into the bar area, the appetizers were overwhelming! The caviar, DIVINE. The sashimi, DELECTABLE. The ceviche, MOUTHWATERING! If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say it was (no surprise here) the caviar. I just couldn't get enough! :-) Then, we watched a cute slide show of the Bride and Groom that did a great job of showing how much they truly love one another. Then, it was time for the BIG moment. The Ceremony was absolutely breathtaking. It took place on a podium, so that everyone could see, and the Huppa - well, just look at the photos and see for yourself! In my opinion, the Oscars pale in comparison to the sparkle and glamour of the Ceremony. Before the Ceremony commenced, two Ballerinas danced on pointe to the 10 piece orchestra that played music from Swan Lake. So lovely..... the air was filled with Love and Passion! Plus, I always take note of the fashion wherever I go, and noticed how beautiful the bridesmaids dresses were! Of course, they were in Tiffany blue, and were one shoulder elegant dresses.

Later, as we entered the Main Ballroom, I was once again entranced by the sparkle and beauty of the decor. Kevin and Mindy... WOW!!! What a combination. For the rest of the night, we ate the most decadent and delicious 6 course dinner followed by a long evening of dancing our hearts out! We partied until 1:30am and at that point I was so thrilled to find a basket of - guess what?? - Tiffany Blue Havaianas flip flops in the ladies room for my tired feet! GENIUS. Mindy absolutely thought of everything, and it was pure heaven when I slipped out of my 6" heels and into the ultra-comfy Havaiana sandals. I returned to the ballroom a little shorter but much, MUCH happier..... and was greeted at our table by a 6 foot tall gorgeous man in a white smock with a basket of towels. Just wait... it gets better! I was informed that these gentlemen were about to give us a foot massage. Can you believe??? Frankly, they looked like they stepped off the cover of "GQ"! OMG I was really in heaven. And all that white sparkle around me, what a treat!!! But that was not all..... the Kobe Beef sliders came out and the disco music started to play, and Michael commanded that I return to the dance floor with him! Oh, I am powerless against his charms :-)

What an amazing night.... I really do hope that they live Happily Ever After, because we sure were thrilled after this magical wedding. Kisses!!!!

A Beautiful Morning at the BHPS Spa

Hello dear friends,

If you can believe it, this weekend was my first "weekend off" since I can remember..... it seems like I've been running on fumes for the last few weeks..... I've been totally non-stop lately! So, I want to re-cap all of the fun and exciting things that I was involved in last week. The week was crazy busy, and ended with a fun and exhilarating Sample Sale at our house last weekend. It was such fun, I get such pleasure out off making sure that all my friends have a stellar Single wardrobe for the summer! Photos to come..... :-)

After the Sample Sale, I resolved to start the week on the right track and treat myself to some well-deserved "Pamper Galina Time," or PGT as I like to call it. Haha! On Tuesday morning, I stepped into one of my favorite places in LA, the spa at BHPS. This is without a doubt the BEST place to pamper yourself; it's the world of the most plush and luxurious environment that my dear friends Christine Chiu and Dr. Gabriel Chiu have created!

The moment I set foot into their offices I felt a sense of escape. My soul is overcome with with a wonderful feeling of tranquility, beauty, and serenity, and right away the outside world became nothing but a distant memory. I left it all behind those beautiful, elegant doors!

Fun Fact... the BHPS Spa architecture and decor was inspired by Coco Chanel. Love it Christine!!!

As I entered BHPS' serene sanctuary, I was greeted by a team of amazing and gracious women and introduced to Pearl the esthetician, the new "Fairy Godmother of My Face"! She is a stunning tall blonde with incredibly flawless skin. I kept saying, "Pearl, I want to have your supple, dewy complexion when I leave today!" :-)

I have to say, there is such an enormous difference between having a facial performed at the offices of a doctor as opposed to just going to a beauty salon. Their attention to detail is remarkable, and I have such an great amount of newly found knowledge about the dry and undernourished areas of my skin.

BHPS' scientific approach to the repair and regeneration, together with Dr. Chiu's thorough research of every product in their facility, make me so much more aware and excited with this newfound info!

I decided to have a mini-micro dermabrasion and -- are you sitting down?? -- a Stem Cell Facial!! This is truly the future of skincare, and I've never felt anything like this incredible facial. This was definitely a revolutionary experience, and my skin has never looked or felt better! Pearl explained the incredible details about how the cells are frozen and flown in from France, and how the skin has to be specially prepped with a steam and a cleanse to allow my cells to receive these miniscule little guys that will work hard and fast to repair my skin and restore its youthful elasticity! So amazing!!!!

Throughout the treatment, I rested and slept and had my face massaged, and the frozen cells were applied and massaged into my skin. I just floated and felt this overwhelming sense of calm. What you get is so much more than just a facial!

Plus, my face is supposed to look even better in a week, as the cells really go to work! This is all so exciting and innovative.... my skin can attest to that!

After my facial, Pearl brought me some wonderful herbal tea and yummy snacks. The BHPS Spa Menu is incredibly diverse and has such a wide array of treatments and procedures that there's most certainly something for everyone.

I want to personally thank my dearest Christine and Dr. Gabriel Chiu for allowing me the pleasure and the satisfaction of entering this glamorous, relaxing world, and my dearest Pearl... I can't wait to see you in a month! It's confirmed.... The Stem Cell Facial at the BHPS Spa is my new addiction!!!
